AC 300 is a concentrated, highly penetrating, water-based, water repellent treatment specific for Cotto and terracotta. Its use is specifically recommended before installation, as it protects the material during the grouting process, making it easier to grout, wash, and clean at the end of the installation.
AC 300 creates an effective protective barrier against dirt from the grouting and it prevents the grout used from staining the treated materials. Its use also provides water-repellent properties that provide effective protection to Cotto and terracotta against rising humidity and all the related issues.
AC 300 penetrates the material deep down, without forming surface film; therefore, it does not affect the original breathability of Cotto. Its use will not change the tone, colour, or original appearance of the material and will not reduce adherence between it and the adhesive used.

Preparing and cleaning the surface
1. Carefully clean the surface, making sure to remove any dust or dirt present.
2. Never apply AC 300 to wet surfaces. The product can be used on slightly damp surfaces;
nonetheless, please ensure that the surface to be treated is as dry as possible.
4. Apply AC 300 to surfaces with a temperature of between +5 and +40°C
5. Any adjacent surfaces not being treated with the product must be protected.
AC 300 is used after dilution in clean water (ratio 1:2) in the case of industrial or glazed cotto,
while it is used at a ratio of 1:3 in case of handmade cotto or more absorbent materials.
Application as pre-installation treatment
Usually, this type of application is made with total immersion of the single tiles
6a. dilute the product as instructed, in a container large enough to hold the tiles. Immerse one
tile at a time, completely, for about 10-15 seconds. Take it out and place it on a free surface to
dry. For very compact, not very absorbent materials, after removing the tile from the
immersion, proceed to even out the product residues with a brush.
Drying time for pre-installation treatment.
AC 300 looks visibly dry a little time after application. Before laying tiles treated with AC 300, it
is necessary to wait at least 24 hours.
Application as post-installation treatment
To make the most of the protective capacity of AC 300, apply it before grouting the tiles.
6b. Apply an even, thin coat of product to a clean, dry surface with the preferred tool, making
sure to create an even layer to cover the whole surface being treated
7b. The product is fast drying and usually does not create residues. When applied to a compact
surface that is not very absorbent, it could leave slight residues on the surface. These can be
easily redistributed with a lambswool applicator or simple clean, dry cloth. In case of very
absorbent surfaces, we recommend applying the product more abundantly.
Drying time for post-installation treatment
AC 300 looks visibly dry a little time after application. Before grouting tiles treated with AC 300, it is necessary to wait at least 24 hours.
Production line application
The product can be applied using special equipment as part of an industrial
production/treatment line. However, Faber can provide similar formulas for use in the
production line.
